Project Description

Client: Brodhead Creek Regional Authority
Year Completed: 2017
Engineer: RKR Hess, a division of UTRS, Inc.

This booster pump station installation for the Brodhead Creek Regional Authority had its own unique construction related challenges.  The project entailed installation of a new booster pump station that would replace the existing station and allow the existing station to be used a backup for the constant water needs in the community.  The new station increases the capacity and efficiency of flow to the region.  The project involved installation of a new masonry block building to house the new 50 HP vertical turbine pumps.  There are hatches in the roof for future access and maintenance of the pumps.  Along with the pump station there was new yard piping to tie the new pumps into the existing tank and water distribution system.  There were new security measures installed as well as new HVAC and controls systems.  This water booster pump station went online in January 2018.
